Known Glitch: depending on your browser and/or device, the games audio may not work as intended,

I've tested the game with chrome and firefox in both windows and android, and safari on ios (using my 2nd gen SE) most of them just had a initial delay at the start due to still loading the audio, while in safari the adaptive music was broken and sound effects wouldn't play

however I still can't garuante the game audio will work on your end even if you're on a browser that worked for me, so check the gameplay video for reference on how the music and sound effects should ideally be playing

You're a whale swiming through space and feasting on yummy red, blue and purple stars! but be careful, not only are there astewwoids in your way, but your view may get covered by strong colored light waves

Move Left and Right by dragging your Finger or Mouse Cursor (holding left click), if you  let go, the player will snap back to the center

Try getting as many stars as you can without getting hit by astewwoids, when a light wave comes by, the star whose colors matches the wave will give way more points than usual!

This game was made for the GDevelop BIG Game Jam #7, based on the theme "overpowered"

while it def was my first thought, I tried thinking of a interpretation that wasn't just "something very very strong, what I landed on was "overpowering" in a sensory(?) kind of meaning, like a speaker playing music so loud that it "overpowers" any other sound

Initially my way about doing this was gonna be making a basic scoring game, who's background and music would get progressively more elaborate and trippy to the point it would distract from the game, with a "falling through space" aesthetic

but due to me being rather low energy during the jam period, and also just being a lil rusty making games, I simplified the idea and game more, and the direction went from intense "falling through space" to a more serene "swimming through space"

I'm particularly happy with how I handled the music and sound design here, I feel the BGM turned out very nice, and I had fun making the variants for when each colored waves come by.

The sound effects especially, instead of using the engine's pitch tool, I recorded each variant of the sound so that the pitch is always in key with the BGM

more than anything I'm just happy to get to make a lil game again, its been a while... c^^
